Coupon Lingo

Below are some of the more common terms that couponers use.
 

Blinkies – coupons that are dispensed from a little red box that sits on the store shelf

BOGO (or B1G1) – buy one get one

Cat – Catalina

CRT – cash register tape

DND – do not double

ECB – Extra Care Bucks (this is for CVS only)

ETS – Excludes trial size

FARR – Free after Register Reward (for Walgreens)

GDA – good deal alert

HBA – Health & Beauty Aid

HWC – Hot Coupon World

IP – Internet printable

IVC – Instant Value Coupon (found at Walgreens – this is a store coupon that can be stacked with a manufacturer's coupon)

MIR – Mail in Rebate

OOP – Out of Pocket

OYNO – on your next order

P&G – Proctor & Gamble

Peelie – Coupons found on products that you "peel" off

PSA – prices start at

RC – Rain Check

RP – Red Plum (coupon insert found in most Sunday papers)

RR – Register Rewards (Walgreens)

SCR – Single Check Rebate (Rite Aid)

SS – Smart Source Insert (coupon insert found in most Sunday's paper

Stacking – When you use more than one coupon per item (such as a store coupon and a manufacturer's coupon – remember: you can never use 2 manufacturer's coupons on one item)

Tear Pad – A pad of coupons located in the store (usually on a display), that you can "tear off" coupons

WYB – when you buy

    It’s a coupon booklet found in Publix stores, but it’s full of manufacturer’s coupons. You would either have to buy the coupons or have someone send you the booklet.
