JAWS Cleaning System Review & Giveaway

Share

Recently I was given the opportunity to try out the JAWS (Just Add Water) Cleaning System.  I was really excited to try this out because not only is it eco-friendly, it is non-toxic and bio-degradable.  This is a big deal for me because of children and pets.  It's also a HUGE deal because it means that if got poured into my drains, it wouldn't hurt my groundwater if it seeped into our well.

There are 4 types of cleaners available to fit any household job:

  • Multi-Purpose Cleaner/Degreaser
  • Bathroom Cleaner/Deodorizer
  • Disinfectant Cleaner Degreaser
  • Disinfectant Cleaner Degreaser

Each kit comes with a reusable, refillable trigger spray bottle and a super-concentrated cleaning cartridge.

Here’s how the JAWS – or “Just Add Water System” – works. Just fill the reusable spray bottle with water and pop in the cleaning cartridge.  I found that some of the cartridges worked right away, and others I had to "jiggle" a bit to get the cleaner going.  The cleaners had a nice light scent – not too strong or over powering.

We tried them on various surfaces through my home.  The glass cleaner worked great on my mirrors, but I wasn't as impressed with the way it cleaned my granite counter top.  It did a good job cleaning, but it didn't make it shine like I would have liked.

The bathroom cleaner worked well on our tile shower, and the disinfectant/degreaser worked great on the stove.  I was very impressed with the degreaser, because quite honestly, I didn't expect it to clean as well as it did.

Because the cleaners were non-toxic, I had my 8 year old try them out with me and she thought they were just great.  It was very easy to use and set up, and she was actually able to do it herself.

When you finish your JAWS starter kit and buy the recyclable cartridge refills, you’ll get two full bottles of cleaner for less than $2 each.

  • JAWS products work are effective in all types of water, including hard water that can be found in many homes in Northeastern and Central Ohio (we have very hard water in my home and I used my well water to mix with the concentrated cleaner and it worked just fine)
  • JAWS was created and is manufactured in Ohio – Toledo to be more specific.  (I liked this too – keeping jobs in Ohio and helping other Ohioans)
  • Purchasing JAWS products is not only helping the planet and helping you cut cleaning costs, it’s also contributing to the betterment of the regional economy through both JAWS International and the more localized retailers they partner with.

If you want additional information visit their website, follow them on Twitter or Facebook, or check out their YouTube channel.

From February 13th through March 11th, Buehler's is running a special promotion on all 4 products.  Most of the stores are participating in the promotion, but I would definitely call ahead to make sure.  The Cleaning Kits sell for $4.09 and refill cartridges for $2.99

However, I am giving one lucky reader the opportunity to try out the JAWS system for FREE.

Diamond Earrings Giveaway

The holidays are coming, and money is tight for everyone.  Well, let me tell you how I earned a fast $2,500 (yes, you heard that right) to pay for our holiday (and then some).  What I did was a sold a bunch of old gold jewelry.  I had a lot of stuff sitting around that I never wore.  Things from ex-boyfriends, ex-husband, broken, out of style, just plain ugly, and, well, you get the picture.

You've all seen those commercials on TV about selling your gold, but honestly, I never trusted any of those people.  No way was I going to send my stuff away in an envelope somewhere.  However, there's a little known secret here in Akron, Ohio called Brilliance.  What are they?  They are a wholesale jeweler.  They don't have a regular store front, so they don't have the overhead that most jewelers have.  They have a discreet office location, where you can sit down, one-on-one with a jewelry expert, and discuss your needs.  There's no pressure to buy anything, and if they don't have what you like, they will make it for you.

So basically, my friend and cohort, Stacey (yes, the other one), told me to call Brilliance and make an appointment.  So, I gathered all of the old stuff I had, and called.  I went to their office thinking that if I walked away with $300 or $400, I would be more than thrilled.  Well, let me tell you, I walked away with $2,500 in cash.  So I bought myself a custom made ring, and used the rest of the money to cover all of our holiday expenses.  No going into debt!!!  Brilliance custom made me a gorgeous ring that I had been wanting to get, but wasn't going to spend any new money to buy it.

So now I have my beautiful ring, and all of my holidays paid for.  If you have a lot of junky gold jewelry sitting around that you don't wear, I would highly recommend giving them a call at (330) 867-1545 OR 330-730-7600.  They are honest, and again, because they are wholesalers (as opposed to retailers), their pricing structures are very different, and they will work with you to make sure you stay within your budget.  They will also take your gold on trade if you want to purchase something else.

Brilliance has generously offered to give one of my readers a pair of diamond earrings (1/2 carat total weight).

SO HOW CAN YOU WIN?

Follow the instructions in the widget below.  You must complete ALL mandatory entries to be eligible to win.  There are 3 bonus entry opportunities as well.  If you call them to sell your old stuff, you will earn an additional 15 bonus entries!!!  Obviously, you'll need to be local for that entry.

*HOT* $25 Marcs Gift Card Giveaway

Share

Everybody I know seems to have a love/hate relationship with Marcs.  The prices are great, they always have cool stuff on clearance, and they have a ton of convenient locations.  However, the stores are always small, cramped, you never know what you're going to find, and it takes forever to check out.  However, I'm here to tell you that all that is changing.  Marcs is doing a fabulous job of renovating their stores and making them way more customer friendly.

They've just remodeled the Stow and Fairlawn locations, and I can tell you, the store is amazing.  The aisles are wider, they added a meat department, and the selection of products is great.  Their produce department rivals any store around.

Here are a few photos of the new stores:

As you can see, the produce department is beautiful.  There's even a  section for high quality cheese.  And they still have their fabulous close out section.  Another thing I noticed too was that all the registers got new computers, and there now seems to be plenty of staff to get customers checked out faster.

To help celebrate their grand re-openings, Marc's has generously offered to help one of my readers with their holiday shopping this year by giving away a $25 gift card.

SO HOW CAN YOU WIN?

Follow the instruction in the widget below.  You must complete the Main Entry before you can complete any additional entries.

Acme Fresh Markets $25 Gift Card Giveaway

So yesterday I was shopping at Acme and I had a rain check for Angel Soft toilet paper.  I bought 3 of them and I gave the cashier the rain check along with 3 internet printables — one that was printed on a color printer and two that were printed on a laser printer.

Well, wouldn't you know it, the damn things beeped when the cashier tried to scan them.  I figured it must have been caused by the rain check because every other coupon I gave her went through just fine.  She told me that if they don't scan, she can't take them, and swore up and down she did the rain check right.  I then asked to speak with the manager.  So, she runs over and talks to the manager and I guess didn't let hm know that I wanted to talk to him.

She comes back and tells me hat my coupons look photocopied but she said they were going to take them anyway.  She actually accused me of photocopying coupons.  I was LIVID, let me tell you.  I explained to her that they are not photocopied and that I printed them on a laser printer, and if that were the case, how could she explain the colored one beeping?

Anyway, she grudgingly took the coupons, I paid for my stuff, and off I went directly to see the store manager.  Super nice guy by the way.  I told him that I was quite unhappy that she had accused me of photocopying coupons.  I understand that she is doing her job, but if I were going to photocopy coupons and scam Acme, I would be doing it for free product and I'd have 30 or 40 coupons that I'd be trying to pass off, not a couple of bucks off Angel Soft.

Anyway, he apologized, and took care of everything for me.  I handed him my card and told him what I do, and asked if would help my readers.  He agreed to help one of my readers with their holiday shopping.  So, my aggravation yesterday was your gain.  He gave me a $25 Acme Gift Card to give to one of you.
